Chlamydia is on the increase and is the UK’s most common bacterial sexually transmitted infection (STI). People get it through having sex (anal, oral and vaginal) and sharing sex toys, with someone who (probably unknowingly) has Chlamydia.
The good news is, it is easily treated with free antibiotics, but the bad news is, it can cause many different problems if left untreated. For men these problems include painful balls, problems with the prostate and possibly infertility. Whilst, for women, pelvic infections can occur which could cause long term tummy pain and infertility. |
